Set in the lush rolling hills of The Crags in the heart of the Plett Wine Route – South Africa’s smallest “Wine of Origin” production area – Kay and Monty Vineyards is a small, family-owned wine farm with just under eight hectares of land under vine. Our charming tasting room and restaurant offer a relaxed location for long, unhurried lunches but also transforms into an elegant wedding venue for celebrations of up to 200 guests.

The venue
Housed in what was once an orchid greenhouse, our contemporary function space acts as a blank canvas for your dream wedding. With its flexible layout, high ceilings and walls of glass on three sides, the venue looks as sophisticated dressed in sleek, minimal décor as it does festooned with flowers and fairy lights. The breathtaking landscape of The Crags and the blue Tsitsikamma Mountains – which are clearly visible from any vantage point thanks to all the glass – add an extra layer of “decoration” for a rich natural backdrop.
There are several locations on the farm for an outdoor ceremony as well as a large barn in case of inclement weather; an extremely useful backup option for added peace of mind.

The farm
The 220-hectare estate not only offers a picturesque location for your big day but also an assortment of beautiful settings for your photographs. From our iconic entrance and waterlily-studded dam to dense forest and grassy meadows, paddocks filled with polo ponies, sweeping vineyards and a wall of fragrant creeping jasmine, photographers are spoiled for choice!

The accommodation
Bridal couples have the option of reserving Country House for the wedding party; an extremely convenient accommodation option just a few minutes away from the main venue. This rambling private homestead was once the original farmhouse on the land that became Kay & Monty Vineyards and has been lovingly restored to reflect this heritage.
Country House comes fully equipped with five en-suite guest bedrooms, a private swimming pool, large cook’s kitchen, braai facilities, cosy indoor fireplaces, a spacious lounge and dining area and a separate rumpus room with incredible views of the surrounding farm.

We use premium ingredients and local, seasonal produce to put together dishes that are generous and delicious, whether you’re looking for a formal, plated dinner, an abundant harvest table or platters piled high for family-style sharing.
